Maui Hui Malama youth had the privilege April 30th of attending a memorable performance, Hula: The Soul of Hawaii, hosted by the Maui Historical Society and the Bailey House Museum. Marking the opening of the special historical exhibit, Hula: A Maui Tradition, running May through July, performers included ‘Iliahi & Haunani Paredes, Napua Greig Nakasone, Kamaka Kukona, Keali‘i Reichel, Kahulu Maluo, Iola Balubar, and others. Being present for these amazing artists, musicians and Kumu hula – truly cultural icons – was an honor.
