Hui Malama recently received a $25,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation’s Hawaii Giving Council to support the cost of a comprehensive health, nutrition and physical fitness program that provides all students with a nutritious breakfast, snack and lunch each day for the 2016 school year. Walmart’s generous grant enables Hui Malama to provide students life skills and knowledge to plan and prepare healthy foods as well as grow their own foods. Everyday practice in the garden and kitchen will help students build a solid foundation for healthy eating.
